Simple 5-ingredient recipes for drivers

It’s a well-known fact that jobs for drivers are not easy - during long routes, there is often no time to stop and prepare proper food for oneself. That is why in this article we present three simple recipes that require only 5 ingredients, so even long working hours will give drivers the opportunity to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals.

Simple quesadillas with chicken

This traditional Mexican dish is quick to prepare and only requires a few ingredients. The production process is extremely simple, and the recipe is special as it allows you to easily personalize it by changing its ingredients to those you prefer and adding more of those that you like.

You will need:

  • 4 tortillas,
  • 250g of chicken (ready-made and pre-cooked chicken sold in stores will also work),
  • 1 red bell pepper,
  • 100g of grated cheese,
  • Taco seasoning mix.

How to make it:
Cut the bell pepper into cubes. If you wish, you can also use additional products such as beans or tomatoes. Cut the chicken into small pieces and fry it in a pan. If you don't want to use raw chicken, you can also use pre-cooked store-bought chicken. After the chicken is cooked, add the chopped bell pepper and taco seasoning to the pan. Fry for a few minutes, stirring the contents of the pan. Heat the tortillas in the microwave (for about 1 minute) but if you don't have one you can simply use the pan. Put the chicken and bell pepper mix onto the tortilla, sprinkle it with grated cheese and place another tortilla on top. Put it all in the pan and heat it for a little bit more (about 1min 30s) so that the cheese between the tortillas melts. Cut the fried tortillas with chicken into 4 parts.

A simple and filling beef stew

For this beef stew, the precise amount of ingredients does not really matter - you can choose the amount of both meat and vegetables yourself. What is important though, is that this stew will not only keep you warm during fall, but it will also leave you full of food that benefits your health.

You will need:

  • 250g of beef,
  • Beef broth,
  • 100g of carrots,
  • 100g of potatoes,
  • An onion,
  • Oil, salt, and pepper,

How to make it:
Cut the beef into pieces. Wash and cut the potatoes into cubes (there is no need to peel them), peel and cut the carrots and the onion. Add oil to the pot, once it heats up throw the onions into the pot. Then put the beef pieces in the pot, fry them well, and sprinkle some pepper and salt on the meat. Transfer the meat to a separate dish and fry the carrots and potatoes well in the pot - make sure they are well cooked and not hard in the middle (the finer you cut the vegetables, the faster they will cook). Put the meat back in the pot and pour the broth over it. Bring the stew to a boil, then lower the heat and leave the contents of the pot to simmer (for about 15 minutes), stirring every few minutes.

Quick omelet in a cup

You will only need 5 minutes to make this omelet, and the production process itself will only require a microwave and a mug. You can also change this recipe according to your taste since you can always add additional ingredients you like when making an omelet.

You will need:

  • Oil, salt, and pepper,
  • 2 eggs,
  • A spoon of milk,
  • Some grated cheese,
  • A little bit of bell pepper.

How to make it:
Add some oil to the cup. Beat in two eggs and add a splash of milk. Using a fork whisk the eggs well. Add additional ingredients to the cup: cheese, bell pepper, and a little salt and pepper. If you don't like bell peppers or cheese, or simply wish to put extra ingredients, you can also add ham, onion, or other toppings of your choice. Mix everything well. Heat the cup in the microwave for 30s, then take it out, stir and reheat the contents for about 20-30s. Do this several times until you see that the contents of the cup are well cooked and are no longer runny.
